CAREGUIDE
At AKS, we create timeless designs crafted from high-quality materials, designed to be worn and cherished for years to come. By caring for your garments thoughtfully, you can extend their lifespan and reduce their environmental impact. Explore our care guide to discover more about the materials we use, how they’re made, and how to care for them.

LAMBSWOOL
Our signature jackets are made from 100% lambswool, a natural fiber that is soft, warm, and breathable, but needs gentle care. Every step of the production process takes place in Inner Mongolia, from collecting the wool fibers to spinning, weaving, and sewing the final garment.
Pilling may happen over time because wool fibers naturally rub against each other, especially in areas with a lot of friction. You can remove the pills gently with a wool comb to maintain the jacket's texture. Lambswool is self-cleaning, for everyday care, wipe any stains with a damp cloth and regularly air the jacket. Do not machine wash. For a deep clean, professional dry cleaning is recommended.

KNITTED WOOL
Wool is a natural, versatile fiber known for its softness, warmth, and durability. With many types of wool available, we use merino in various thicknesses, as well as blends with cashmere, mohair, and cotton, focusing exclusively on natural fibers. Many of our merino pieces are certified by the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), ensuring ethical sourcing and high quality.
Wool is self-cleaning, so it doesn’t need frequent washing. We recommend airing your knitwear regularly and washing it only when necessary on a gentle wool program with a specialized wool detergent. Over time, pilling may occur due to natural friction, especially in areas of high use. These can be easily removed with a wool comb to maintain a smooth texture. To preserve your knitwear, avoid hanging it, as this may cause stretching. Instead, fold and store it in a drawer. When drying, never wring wool garments; lay them flat to dry and reshape as needed to maintain their fit and softness. With the right care, wool knitwear can be enjoyed season after season.

WOVEN WOOL
Woven wool is a timeless material with its natural warmth and durability. At AKS, we use woven wool for our double-faced jackets, a technique where two layers of fabric are seamlessly bonded together without additional lining. This creates a luxurious, lightweight finish that combines structure with softness. Our woven wool is available in a range of thicknesses, allowing our jackets to provide comfort and practicality throughout all seasons in Nordic climates. To preserve the quality and structure of your wool jacket, we recommend dry cleaning only. To keep it fresh between cleanings, air the garment regularly and gently spot clean any small stains with a damp cloth.

LEATHER
We use high-quality leather from cow, sheep, and goat, all certified as byproducts of the food industry. We do not use fur or exotic animal skins in any of our collections.
For our lamb fur products, we use a technique where the wool is sheared and bonded to a new base material, allowing us to create soft and luxurious pieces without harming the animal. If the animal is eventually slaughtered, it is always as part of food production, ensuring every part is utilized and nothing goes to waste. To care for leather, wipe it gently with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. Avoid overexposing leather to water or heat. Cleaning should be done by a leather specialist only.

COTTON
Cotton is a versatile and natural fiber known for its softness, breathability, and durability, it is gentle to the skin and easy to care for. At AKS, we work with 100% cotton as well as cotton/lyocell blends to create high-quality, timeless garments. To maintain your cotton pieces, always check the care label first. Most items can be machine washed at 30°C on a delicate cycle with similar colors. Avoid tumble drying to prevent damage or shrinkage—air drying is best to preserve the fabric's quality.

VISCOSE
Viscose is made from natural cellulose, known for its soft, silky texture and elegant drape. At AKS, we work with both viscose and TENCEL™, a branded form of lyocell. While both are derived from plant-based materials, TENCEL™ is produced using a more sustainable process with lower environmental impact. Viscose garments require gentle handling to retain their shape and texture. Always check the care label before washing. Most items should be washed on a delicate cycle at 30°C or by hand. Avoid wringing out or tumble drying, as this can weaken the fibers, air drying flat is recommended for best results.
